New York - Sarah Morthland Gallery is pleased to announce
an exhibition of recent photographs by Harvey Osterhoudt.
The exhibition begins on Friday, May 23 and continues through
Saturday, June 28, 2003. The public is invited to attend a
reception for the artist on Thursday, June 5, from 6-8 pm
at the gallery.
Harvey Osterhoudt's black and white photographs of landscapes
and urban areas record manmade and natural elements interacting
with one another discretely and almost without notice. Through his
use of light, shadow, and scale, subtle relationships are formed
that turn the ordinary into something remarkable.
Harvey Osterhoudt lives and works in Kingston, New York. During
the photographer's extensive career, he has had solo and group
exhibitions throughout the Mid-West and Northeast and his work
is included in numerous collections including the Musee Reattu,
Arles, France and the Museum of Modern Art, New York. A five
volume series has been published of his work entitled
